great place to stay

First of all: Gillian and Gordon Warren are very friendly and warm hosts (?) and they try to support their guests whereever possible and necessary. The cottage is well equipped (washing machine and dryer are very useful) and proper and we had very relaxed and comfortable days there.
The view into the garden and landscape is just great.
Halkirk is a fine place (supermarket etc) to start trips around north and west Scotland and to Orkney!
We spent our first time in Scotland and were just happy that we had found this place to stay.

We were delayed by a week because of the disruption to flights caused by volcanic ash, but Gordon and Gill were very sympathetic and flexible in re-arranging the dates for our stay. They gave us an extremely warm and friendly welcome, and we were made to feel that they would do anything they could to help while we were their guests. The property is immaculately kept and very well equipped, and the gardens and view are absolutely beautiful. The welcome pack waiting for us on arrival was generous and very useful. We were made to feel very much at home from arrival to departure, and would highly recommend the cottage to other visitors to the area.

Home from Home

Myself and family stayed in this cottage last May, and i can honestly say without doubt it was the most enjoyable and comfortable few days we have had for a long time. The house is kept to an immaculate standard, with fresh modern furnishings. Mr and Mrs Warren are a very friendly and welcoming couple, and nothing is too much trouble for them. There was even fresh milk and bread waiting for us on arrival as it was late at night and saved us having to find a shop.
The village of Halkirk is peaceful and the local people are friendly. The main towns of Thurso and Wick are only a few miles drive away, and there is lots to see and do in both places.
I have recommended this cottage to all my friends who wish to visit the Caithness area and i will definately be re booking this year because the cottage really does have a 'home from home' feel about it.
Thank you for a very pleasant stay!

We stayed at the cottage last August and have to say we will, without any hesitation, be booking a return visit. The cottage was spotlessly clean very well equipped and had a lovely big garden. The owners are very friendly and on hearing it was my birthday that weekend left flowers which were very much appreciated. We enjoyed a peaceful relaxing weekend and look forward to going back very soon.
